40th Birthday Picnic

I’ve been in a stubborn state of denial about turning forty. I only acknowledged the date in order to insist on no boozy nights out, no “Look who’s 40!” scrawled on a bed sheet and left to litter a local roundabout, and definitely no surprise party!

Thankfully my family saw beyond my grumpiness and arranged a picnic in Lyme Park …

Alton Towers

alton towers sonicA couple of weeks ago I saw an advert for Gulliver’s World and thought what most people do, lets go to Alton Towers! Lets face it, they don’t need to advertise as every other Theme Park does it for them.

Come September our day trips will be consigned to the horrors of the school holidays, and with our eleven year old nephew visiting thanks to the early release policy of the Scottish education system it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.… read the full post.

Shame in the Museum

I’ve never been good at accents. Ask me to voice more than two teddies and it can quickly descend into a picnic hosted by Jim Davidson.

My knowledge of animals isn’t great either. Beyond the Farmyard and pages of ‘Dear Zoo’ it’s pretty much all guesswork.

With just two toddlers it hasn’t been a problem. When the audience includes half a dozen school kids and their teachers it does become a little more awkward.… read the full post.
